  2. It's amazing how democracy is being used to push to this as a good thing. If a ton of Americans want to do this, then it's okay. There hasn't been a lot of research done on this on a mass scale and when it does spread, several people are are going to fight it even if it's found to have serious negative effects on the country at large.

It's nice how he total didn't bring up things like synthetic weed and how that's now taking off due to the relaxation of laws. It's would be fine if smoking weed only affected the person, but like alcohol there are more ramifications that the public as a whole has to pay like drunk driving. Yet because of the nebulous factor of whether the person was being affected at that time of the accident they can use that a means to hand wave a real concern.

If you're found to have weed in your system most employers will fire you on the spot if you're operating heavy machinery. They don't care about it if you smoked it weeks ago. Business owners understand that the weed you smoke has an affect on more than just you.

  4. Now talk about how the government is taxing the shit out of these new business. The old illegal sellers were making more money before the legalization of marijuana. There is a double edged sword when the supporters are getting taxed and charged for high price licenses. However they are just happy to do business

  5. You can tell the other guy is salty about losing, he's got the incredulous "I'm better than you" look and balks at everything Stossel says.

  7. 3:49 Biggest laugh i've had in a week. I can't believe i just heard that from a coherent person, let alone a proclaimed intellectual.

  8. When I was underage, it was 100 percent easier to get marijuana than alcohol. Now that's it's legal and people are carding, the kids are out of luck.

  14. His comment about "just because something doesn't work you don't stop"! Isn't that what the left says about Socialism? Hmmm, and I thought only the left had that kind of thinking. The lesson of prohibition seems to have been forgotten.

  15. John Stossel is the man, a die hard conservative and nationalist, yet he supports marjuana legalization, great.

  21. Marijuana definitely has negative side affects, My brain definitely did not function as well after doing it, and I also noticed the same thing with my friends that used to do it. I'm not saying it should be illegal though.

  22. The problem is all the bloodshed surrounding weed and the people who peddle this crap. Honestly people getting high is a joke.

  27. Want to end the drug trafficking? Legalize and regulate drug usage. When that business is legal, it means supply increases, scarcity decreases and profit margins for cartels go away leaving them with no choice but to abandon the drug trades. Want to increase tax revenue while also stimulating the economy? Tax the shit out of harmful substances just like cigarettes and alcohol are taxed now. Want more tax revenue? Legalize sports gambling and prostitution. There you go – we just took $100 billion+ off of our annual budget deficient AND created new recreational industries that the framework for already exists meaning less capital needs to be invested to make everything run smoothly. Unreal how our country is so advanced and so behind at the same time.

  28. Weed won't be completely legal unless we can smoke it without getting fired the next week for the results of a random drug test. I love where things are headed, but it still frustrates me that I can't find a decent paying job that doesn't test for weed. Sure, test me for crack, heroin, etc. But weed should be regulated just like alcohol which means I can use it in my free time without fear of losing my income.

  29. If New York legalizes I might cross the PA border for some. Unless I need to live there.

  30. Driving while under the influence of marijuana takes a very long time to test for, but the symptoms of a person under the influence should be obvious. Off course the test alone could be misleading based on how long thc stays in your system. With that out of the way, I can say that driving while high is probably just as dangerous if not more than under the influence of alcohol, dependent on quantity and other factors. I've seen it in person where people while stoned fall asleep and crash into other drivers. Never seen a fatality but wouldn't doubt there have been weed related driving fatalities difficult to prove. This doesn't merit a ban just like with alcohol, but it does merit people not driving while stoned. Also, the other thing I hate about weed is the smell of it. I don't care if other people use it, but I do hate it with a passion when I have to smell it while walking down a street or the park. I wish there's a way to change that. The same goes for smoking. In contrast, alcohol smell only bothers me when near drunks, hence my avoidance of bars and places where people drink. I can't lock myself at home and never enjoy the outdoors where people are smoking weed though or tobacco though.

  31. Now if we can just get people to stop calling it "weed". A weed is something you pull up and discard – Erb is what you keep and use. Don't self-incriminate, call it Erb!

  32. Next they should legalize LSD. Such an underrated psychedelic, that can actually resolve our society if allowed to be prescribed to people with depression or mental disorders. Its a shame hippies had to ruin it for everyone.

  33. No, it is the gateway to the ideas of the left … why is the left desperate to legalize it? Why is every legalized state suffering major problems? I even saw the world's first bizarre martial arts tournament that was allowed to use marijuana (held in California). But that's fine, there are people who are still working hard enough to sustain these oddities. Perhaps, its been legalized for years in the Netherlands… where the so called "cure of the cancer"?

  34. "Just because something doesn't work, doesn't mean we end it." That's the most government thing I've ever heard.

  39. Its funny wen u see stock footage of people smoking weed its always people smoking brand new glass bowls and joints that are rolled very shitty as if the folks filming the content asked and followed specifically ALL first time smokers if they wanted to be filmed… 😂😂😂 is it me or my impeccable deduction skills? Dam it feels good to be a gangsta… mispelled "GANGSTA"

  40. What about tobacco? You die. Zero benefit to you. Its legal, everywhere, taxed by governments, sold to anyone, and is still a growing industry.
So with that said, there is nothing more to say. There is no arguement.
